Tidecast
Tidecast reads the tide, daylight, wind and waves together to tell you when to go. Tides are computed on your iPhone, so they work with no signal, right on the beach.

What the app does
The best window
Pick your activity — clamming, tide pooling, surf fishing, surf, kayak, swimming — and see the hours that suit it, and why.
Negative and king tides
The tide range scored against each station's own year, the lowest lows ahead, and an alert before the ones you care about.
Offline
Tides are computed on the device from harmonic constants: no signal needed, no waiting.
Lock Screen and wrist
Widgets, Live Activity, Apple Watch and complications: the next tide without opening the app.
Know when to go, and why
Every window gets a score out of 100, broken down: water height, duration, light, wind, rain and waves. You see what counts, and you can set your own criteria.
The leave-by time accounts for the drive to the beach. An alert can warn you before the window, and you can add it to your calendar or share it as an image.
The whole week at a glance
Each day's highs and lows with their heights above MLLW, sunrise and sunset, and the day's forecast.
About 3,250 NOAA tide stations along every US coast, computed with the same harmonic method NOAA uses.
The coast on a map
Stations, beaches and buoys on the map, with NOAA nautical charts: tap a beach to make it a spot, and see where its tide and waves come from.
Live buoy readings from NDBC, forecasts and marine alerts from the National Weather Service, wind and UV from Apple Weather.
Free, or Pro
Free, with no ads and no account: the week's tides, two spots, live conditions, the map, a preview of the best window, the widget and the Apple Watch app.
Tidecast Pro adds the full best window, alerts, seven-day weather and windows, unlimited spots, currents, every widget, Live Activities and complications. $19.99 a year with a seven-day free trial, $2.99 a month, or $59.99 once.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need a signal?
Not for tides: they are computed on the iPhone. Waves, weather and the map need a connection.
Which coasts are covered?
Every US coast with NOAA data, and mainland France, from Dunkirk to Corsica.
What is a negative tide?
A low tide below MLLW, the average of the lowest daily lows. It is when the flats and tide pools are most uncovered.
What does the app do with my location?
It finds the nearest stations, on the device, and is the starting point of the drive time Apple Maps works out. It is never stored or sent anywhere else.
Can I use it to navigate?
No. Predictions may differ from actual conditions: Tidecast is not a navigation instrument.
